The only regular transport to Stóra Dímun is helicopter service by Atlantic Airways. As roundtrips are not possible, visits to Stóra Dímun have to be planned carefully beforehand and in cooperation with the one family living on the island. Further information is on their homepage.

A few tour operators offer day tours to Stóra Dímun, most departures being from Tórshavn. 

It is possible to book a sightseeing/birdwatching tour with M/S Hvíthamar from Sandur to Stóra Dímun, requests can be sent to info@visitsandoy.fo. This tour does not offer getting on land but only sailing by the bird cliffs.
