Kátir Kallar – Faroese Jazz Standards

Kátir Kallar is a Faroese jazz band that plays Faroese jazz standards with great joy. The members of the band choose a variety of well-known Faroese songs, which they arrange as jazz standards in a similar way to what international jazz bands do as a tradition.

This way, the Faroese audience is really drawn into a musical journey with the band, where they feel at home and are often singing along, even though the band plays instrumental music.

The music is relevant to a wide audience and visitors from abroad are presented with Faroese music with a jazz flavor.

The debut release “Jazzbók Føroya Fólks”, which was released on Tutl Records in 2015, was nominated for an FMA award 2016.
