The New Chamber Choir visits Fuglafjordur Church during their stay in the Faroes

The New Chamber Choir from Aarhus is on tour in the Faroe Islands this summer.
The choir is looking forward to visiting Fuglafjordur Church with a programme they call “Et Sommerdøgn” (A Day in Summer) which starts with Kari Bæk’s arrangement of "Nu rinder solen op" (The Sun is Rising) and ends with three Nordic evening songs. The concert also offers a mix of summer songs and Eric Whitacre’s “Three Flower Songs”.
Of course, the Faroese song treasure is also represented, with e.g. the tragic story of Ólavur Riddararós who risks his life for a dance with the elf girls.
The choir has ca. 35 singers and is conducted by Anders Gaden.
