Rent a kayaka and enjoy a moment on the beautiful Lake Sandsvatn

Enjoy the beautiful nature by quietly gliding through the water on Lake Sandsvatn. The lake is the third largest on the Faroe Island and is known for its rich bird life. From where you enter the water, you can explore several little coves, paddle past the river leading and small islets.

Renting a kayak on Lake Sandsvatn is self-service. You pick up the kayaks at by the riverbank just north of Sandur village. Everything you need is available at the container where the kayaks are stored - kayaks, floating wests, paddles and spray skirts. You then take the kayak to lake just across the road. There is no guide or instructor or guide and using the kayaks is on your own responsibility.
